Dilvis or Dil Import/Export B.V. has a rich history. Dilvis started catching and selling freshwater fish from the Alkmaardermeer in 1884. The company is now in the hands of its fifth generation and is one of the largest processors of freshwater fish in the Netherlands. Dilvis has the sole fishing rights for the Alkmaardermeer, a unique fishing water. It was created in the 17th century after poldering the North Sea estuary. The 'salty' taste of the original estuary remained, which is why the freshwater fish from Dilvis has such a unique taste.

Smoked Eel Fillets

The smoked eel fillets from Dilvis are renowned for their taste and quality throughout the world. Famous restaurants and hotels in many countries serve the oak smoked eel fillets from Dilvis to their guests. Dilvis makes sure that freshly caught fish are processed quickly. Pike-perch, eel, perch, arctic char, pike and carp are cleaned and filleted both manually and by machine. Refrigerated vehicles are used to distribute the fish quickly. And if faster transport is needed to far away places, Dilvis uses air freight.
